About The New Gate to Peace Foundation
The New Gate to Peace Foundation was established to provide a rich educational and spiritual experience by promoting pilgrimages, tours, and visits to important sites in the Holy Land.
At The New Gate to Peace Foundation (NGTPF), we believe that a greater awareness of the history and culture of the Holy Land, as well as encounters between leaders of different religions, can help foster peaceful solutions to current challenges, as well as facilitate an impact on the hearts and souls of all those who seek to experience the Holy Land for themselves.
The New Gate to Peace Foundation is an independent, U.S. 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operated by the Legionaries of Christ. NGTPF receives donations for Holy Land operations and activities run by the Legionaries.
NGTPF is operated exclusively for charitable purposes as defined in section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, for the promotion of the cultural, historical, and religious heritage of the Holy Land.
Legionaries of Christ
The Legionaries of Christ has existed for 74 years to serve the Lord by raising awareness in Christians through education, missions, and formation of ministries to support a variety of projects. All NGTPF projects work to deepen the religious experience for all who visit the Holy Land. Your donation will help us accomplish these goals and help many people have a deeper spiritual experience.
In 2009, when construction began on the guesthouse, workers uncovered a first-century synagogue, which housed the Magdala Stone, a discovery many news outlets and archaeologists called “the most significant archeological find of the last 50 years.” Also discovered were the remains of a bustling first-century city, where Jesus once taught, complete with shops, a marketplace, and residential areas. Magdala is owned and operated by the Legionaries of Christ and is located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, providing an opportunity to walk where Jesus once taught and transformed lives. The historical, cultural, and spiritual impact of Magdala is significant. Magdala provides visitors the opportunity to reflect on and deepen their relationship with Christ. In the United States, New Gate to Peace Foundation receives gifts for the development and operation of the holy site at Magdala. Funding for Magdala will allow the leadership to expand and improve the site, and provide a greater level of spiritual, cultural, and educational influence on the hearts of visitors and pilgrims. Currently, Magdala plans to develop a pilgrimage guesthouse, visitors’ center, expanded archeological park, seaside chapels, and much more. The progress has been steady thus far, but the project is far from complete. The goal of Magdala’s development involves making appropriate improvements and investments that will further Magdala’s purpose, mission, and vision. Your donation to the New Gate to Peace Foundation will be used solely for the improvement and development of Magdala.
New Gate Tours
New Gate Tours offers more than just “tours”. They provide spiritual and cultural expeditions. When traveling to the Holy Land, it is important to be guided by people who can help you maximize the spiritual significance of your journey. New Gate Tours helps tour participants explore and enjoy the many historical, cultural, and spiritual places in the Holy Land – while providing opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual growth.
“What made the trip an interior spiritual journey was that every step, every meditation, every scene contributed an important piece. At the end of my trip, I have the certainty that my soul walked more miles than my suitcase. I have drawn closer to God and the Church in a way I ever thought possible.”- stated a traveler who had just completed a New Gate Tour.
At New Gate Tours, the goal is not just a great tour – but also a spiritual experience that changes hearts and lives.
